Mike Sodrel Endorsed by Indiana Right to Life PAC

Oct 13, 2006 — (Jeffersonville, IN)- Congressman Mike Sodrel was endorsed today by the Indiana Right to Life Political Action Committee because of his consistent votes in Congress to protect the lives of the unborn. Sodrel has said throughout his campaign he is pro-life and has voted that way in Congress.

"It is our duty as a government and as a society to protect the lives of those who are the most vulnerable among us," Sodrel said. "This endorsement is significant to me because preventing abortions is a top priority of mine and one I believe to be a top priority for Hoosiers. I will continue to do all I can to fight against abortions and protecting the pre-born in Congress."

"Congressman Mike Sodrel does not establish his views based on polls or political expediency," Michael Fichter said, Executive Director for the Indiana Right to Life PAC. "Sodrel is pro-life, he will vote pro-life, and he will never let the pro- life voters of the ninth district down."

Since elected to Congress in 2004, Sodrel has received a 100 percent voting record from the National Right to Life Committee. He has co- sponsored measures to declare that life begins at conception, the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act to prohibit the transportation of a minor to another state to perform an abortion, and voted for funding for abstinence education. He also voted for a complete ban on cloning, and co-sponsored the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act, to ensure that women seeking an abortion are fully informed of the pain experienced by their unborn.
